Projects

Why do I have to start and stop a project?

Each project runs in its own workspace, set up for that project's data. Starting it brings that workspace up, which usually takes a minute or two; stopping it puts it away. You start a project when you want to work in it and stop it when you are done. See The Projects Page.

What does a stopped project cost?

Nothing. A running project costs money; a stopped one costs nothing, and nothing in it is lost. Your data, definitions and reports are all there when you start it again.

What if I forget to stop a project?

It stops by itself after it has not been used for a while. Your administrator sets how long. Leaving a project, or going back to the projects page, does not stop it. See Finding Your Way in a Project.

Which size should I choose?

Normal suits logs up to about 500,000 events; Large is for bigger logs. Choose with your data in mind, because the size cannot be changed once the project is created. See The Projects Page.

Who can open my project?

The people you choose. Click ... on the project, then Members. Anyone who can open the project can also open its reports, including from a report's shared address. See The Projects Page and Reports.

Can I get a deleted project back?

No. Deleting a project removes its data and its backups, and they cannot be brought back. Where Save is available, save the project to a file first if you might want it again. See The Projects Page.

I cannot see Process Intelligence at all.

Process Intelligence is switched on tenant by tenant, and you need the User role or higher in your tenant. If the welcome screen shows no Process Intelligence card, ask your administrator. See Regions and Availability.

I cannot see Save, Backup or Import project.

They are not switched on on every server yet. On the Europe server, Save and Import project are available and Backup is not. They depend on how each server is set up, so if Save is not in a project's ... menu, or Import project is not on the projects page where you work, it is not switched on there. See Regions and Availability.

Data

Can I load more data into a project?

No. A project holds one set of data. Once it has data, loading again is refused with "This project already has data - load into a new project." For different data, create a new project. See Loading Data.

How do I change what a case is?

On the Data screen, open the Event logs tab, keep an event log for the kind of object a case should follow, and click Use on it. Every screen then reads the log that way, and you can switch back at any time. To build the log itself on a different choice, use Change the case notion instead. For a flat event log, the case is the column you mapped as Case id. See Choosing What a Case Is.

My project says "Needs an answer". What went wrong?

Nothing. Your data holds several kinds of objects, and the project will not guess which one a case should follow. Click Choose, pick one, and click Continue building. See Choosing What a Case Is.

Where does my data live?

On the server you work on - production, Europe or Australia - inside the project you loaded it into. A project on one server does not appear on another. See Regions and Availability.

The screens

Why does a figure say "not measured"?

Because the project does not have what that figure needs, and the screen shows no number rather than a made-up one. On Performance, for example, Target attainment needs a target time and Cases still open needs a rule for when a case is complete; until they are set, both are listed under Not measured on this project, each with its reason. See Performance.

Why does an analysis screen show no money?

The Analyze screens count - late days, repeated steps, cases that broke a rule - and none of them turns a count into money. A cost you set on Costs is multiplied into an amount only in a report, so ask for a report when you want the money figure. On Automations, hours stay hours until the project has an hourly rate and a currency: the hourly rate is set by your mindzie administrator, and the currency on Costs. See Costs and Deliver.

Why do two screens give different numbers for the same thing?

Usually because they count different cases. Every screen says which cases are in view, and a saved filter changes them. A report says which cases it used, too. Compare two figures only when they are counted over the same cases. See Performance.

The screen says the AI is not available. What can I still do?

Everything that does not need it. On Enrichments, Filters, Rules and Costs, click Write it by hand. Reports already in the project still open, print and save; a new report or job cannot be started until the AI is available. See Define.

Reports

How long does a report take?

Several minutes. You can leave the screen, or the project, while it is written; it carries on and publishes itself when it is done. Watch shows it at work. See Reports.

Does a report change when my data changes?

No. A published report is a frozen copy of what it said on the day it was made. To bring it up to date, click Run again on today's data in its ... menu. The new result is added as a new version, and the old one stays readable. See Reports.

How do I know where a number in a report came from?

Open the report and click How this was made. It shows the exact words the report was asked and the data it read, with a link to the run behind it. See Reports.

Can I share a report with someone outside the project?

Share copies an address that anyone who can open the project can use. For anyone else, save the report as HTML, PDF or Word and send the file. See Reports.
