Data

The Data group is where a project gets its data and where you look at what arrived. Everything else in the project - the rules you state, the maps you draw, the reports you ask for - reads the one event log you build here, so this is where every project starts.

The pages in this group

Loading Data - the Data screen of a project that holds data, and Load your data, the screen that lists the ways to bring data in: an object-centric log, a flat event log, the original tables from your system, or a playbook package. It also lists a connection to your databases, which today sets the connection up but does not yet read data into the project.

Files, OCEL and Event Logs - which kinds of file each way in accepts, and the tabs on the Data screen that show what the project holds: the files you handed it, the object-centric log built from them, and the event logs kept over it.

Choosing What a Case Is - when your data holds several kinds of objects, such as orders, deliveries and invoices, you decide which one a case follows. This page shows how to make that choice, how to change it later, and what the Needs an answer state on the projects page asks of you.

The order to work in

1. Create a project. See Your First Project.
2. Load your data from a file or a playbook package. See Loading Data.
3. If your data holds more than one kind of object, choose what a case is. See Choosing What a Case Is.
4. Read the Data screen to check the log holds what you expect, before you go on to the Define group.
