Coming Features

BPM Studio is in active development, and its capabilities grow with every release. This page lists what is planned. It is not a commitment to scope or timing, and the order below does not reflect priority - features ship when they are ready.

Planned Capabilities

  • More lifecycle states - Move models through additional states such as In Review, Approved, and Deprecated, beyond today's Draft and Published.
  • Approvals - Submit a model for review, assign approvers, and track sign-off before publishing.
  • Periodic re-approval reminders - Set a review cadence on published processes and get notified when a re-approval is due.
  • Richer discussion - Comment directly on individual elements, with threads, replies, and @mentions, building on today's model-level comments.
  • Process documents - Generate a formatted Word or PDF process document, beyond today's Markdown export.
  • Multilingual interface - Use the BPM Studio interface in more languages.
  • Multilingual model content - Translate element names and descriptions so each viewer can read the process in their own language.
  • Folders and search - Organize models in folder trees and find them with full-text search.
  • Object library - Define roles, systems, and documents once and reuse them across models.
  • RACI matrices - Assign Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, and Informed roles to activities and export the matrix.
  • Project settings - Per-project defaults, archiving, and other preferences.
  • Audit log - A reviewable trail of who changed what and when.
  • ARIS import - Bring existing process models across from ARIS.
  • Process simulation - Run tokens through a model to estimate durations, costs, and bottlenecks before changing the real process.
  • Process mining integration - Compare a designed process against how it actually runs, using event data from Process Intelligence.
  • Dashboards and reports - Governance overviews showing review status and activity across all processes.
  • Read-only process portal - A simple site where anyone in the organization can browse published processes.
  • API access - Work with models and projects programmatically.
